The Minolta Flash Meter IV is a digital light meter that measures ambient and flash lighting. It takes incident light readings using the standard spherical diffuser, as well as reflected light readings.

The LCD screen displays shutter speed, aperture, and ISO settings. It features an analyze function that measures the ratio of flash to ambient light for more precise exposure control. For flash photography, it measures exposures using either a direct PC sync cord connection or a cordless flash mode. The unit operates on a single 6V battery (such as a 4LR44 or PX28).
