The Pentax Digital Spotmeter is a handheld light meter that measures reflected ambient light. It features a precise 1-degree angle of acceptance, allowing for highly targeted exposure readings of specific elements within a scene.

The meter utilizes a through-the-lens viewfinder with an internal digital LED display that provides readings in Exposure Values (EV). A physical calculator dial on the side of the barrel is used to translate the EV number into corresponding shutter speed, aperture, and ISO combinations. The unit operates on a single 6V battery (such as a 4LR44 or PX28).
