The Tiffen Skylight 1A is a general-purpose filter designed to reduce the excessive bluish cast often found in outdoor color photography, especially when shooting in open shade or beneath a clear blue sky. Featuring a subtle pink tint, it adds a slight touch of warmth to your images while absorbing ultraviolet (UV) light to improve overall clarity and reduce haze.

Because of its clear nature and minimal effect on exposure, it is frequently left on the lens at all times as an everyday protective filter to shield your front element from dust, moisture, and scratches. Constructed using Tiffen's ColorCore technology, the filter features optical glass laminated between two pieces of glass, ground flat, and mounted in a precision metal ring. This filter requires no exposure compensation.
