The Contax IIa is a classic 35mm rangefinder built by Zeiss Ikon in Stuttgart throughout the 1950s. It features a bright combined viewfinder and long-base rangefinder for precise focusing, a durable metal focal plane shutter with speeds up to 1/1250, and a focusing wheel right next to the shutter release for quick one-finger focusing. Compact, solid, and beautifully engineered, it’s one of the great German rangefinders of its era.

This setup includes the Zeiss-Opton Sonnar 50mm f/2, an early postwar Zeiss lens known for its sharpness and smooth, classic rendering. It’s a versatile normal lens that’s great for everyday shooting, portraits, and street photography.

This camera has undergone a full CLA (clean, lube, and adjust), and the cost of the service alone exceeded its price here. It’s ready to shoot right out of the box.

Please note: the original leather ever-ready case shows wear and has a previous owner’s name etched into the lid. See photos.
